Having been told to sit down ready to start, I’m not sure I was quite ready for what followed but…………..what an evening. The information about the church as a building and as a religion through the early centuries was very interesting and complimented the history of St Mary’s, which is better known. I am not sure the last time I was aware of so much purgatory! Our huge thanks go to
Cindy Wood for putting together such an interesting presentation.
This was followed after some very suitable refreshments by some lovely music sung by
Churches Together accompanied by the gracious Grenville and a motley band of musicians apt to the era earlier discussed.
The whole evening was topped with two more recent vocal pieces beautifully sung at the end of an historic day followed by an organ finale which the audience could participate in!
